PATON – Patent Information Centre at TU Ilmenau

The patent attorneys of Meyer & Dörring, Erlangen, regularly serve as speakers at events organized by the Patent Information Centre (PATON) at the Technical University of Ilmenau.

Among these events is the annual PATON Conference, the largest German-language conference dedicated to patent information. Our attorneys present lectures on topics including employee inventions, the enforcement of intellectual property rights, and legal developments both within the European Union and in non-European jurisdictions, including Asia.

In addition, Rudolf Meyer contributes to the training of patent engineers and patent search professionals by teaching advanced courses on patent claims. These lectures cover subjects ranging from the theoretical foundations of patent claims to current German and European case law.

iENA – International Trade Fair "Ideas, Inventions and New Products"

Every autumn, the iENA – International Trade Fair "Ideas, Inventions and New Products" takes place at the Exhibition Centre in Nuremberg.
During this event, Meyer & Dörring provides free initial consultations for inventors, whether they are independent inventors, start-up teams, or representatives of established companies. The consultations cover all aspects of intellectual property protection, including patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks.

Bayern Innovativ

Every Thursday, the Patent Information Centre Nuremberg, an institution of Bayern Innovativ, offers free, non-binding initial consultations with patent attorneys.

Jugend forscht

The Jugend forscht ("Youth Research") competition is held annually to encourage young people to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Meyer & Dörring supports the regional Middle Franconia competitions in Erlangen and Nuremberg with its own exhibition stand. In addition to providing general information about intellectual property rights, our attorneys present, in coordination with the respective applicants, selected exhibits that have recently been the subject of utility model, patent, or design applications. These practical examples help demonstrate how intellectual property rights protect technical innovations and creative developments in practice.
