In 1991 patent attorney Meyer graduated as a physicist at the University of Erlangen/Nuremberg with emphasis on experimental physics. After his graduation he worked at the Bavarian Landesgewerbeanstalt LGA (state institute for national trade in Bavaria) for many years. There he handled applications for support of mid-size producing companies within the scope of the governmental technology support of the Free State of Bavaria. Additionally he was responsible for writing safety-related expert opinions for ammonia refrigerating plants according to § 29 a BlmSchG (Federal Immission Control Act).
After having intensively accompanied innovation processes on the sides of the State, Mr Meyer changed to an established patent law firm in Nuremberg in 2001. There he was trained as a patent attorney. From 2005 on he worked in the intellectual property department of a worldwide leading automotive and industrial supplier. He was also responsible for the employee inventor compensations throughout the whole company. In this sector he is still active as a consultant as well as a lecturer.
Since 2001 Rudolf Meyer has been working in the area of industrial property rights in various functions. In 2013 he became founding partner in the patent law firm Meyer & Dörring GbR in Erlangen.
At the Technical University of Ilmenau patent attorney Meyer is active as a lecturer in the sector of training patent engineers. Furthermore he regularly offers inventor consultations, which are attended by many people, at the Patentinformationszentrum of the TÜV Rheinland (Patent Information Center of the TÜV Rheinland, former LGA) in Nuremberg as well as at the inventor’s exhibition iENA.
